We do have a lot, and I mean a lot of possible internet marketing methods that we could apply to our websites for promoting a certain product or a business, but the real question is… are we doing it right? Or let’s say, maybe you feel like you have applied one of the top and most used online marketing methods but still you did not get the result you were aiming for, what could have possibly went wrong? In this article I will give you hints and tips about the DOs and DONT’s about online marketing to help you promote your business through the use of the internet.

DOs
1. Find the right internet marketing method that suits your website best; you have a lot of options, such as Search engine optimization (SEO), Pay per click Advertisement (PPC), Email marketing, and even social media marketing. All of these are useful and reliable yet you don’t really need to pick them all, you can though, it’s definitely all up to you… but for practicality sake you can choose 1 or 2 of them for starters, if you feel like you still didn’t get the result you wanted then you can go through each of the internet marketing method. Each method has their different way of gaining traffic for your website which leaves you a lot of great choices and a lot amazing chances to be successful.

2. Keep your domains simple, short and memorable if possible, (e.g. mysticks.com) these kinds of domains usually get remembered easily. Also a less complicated website are usually helpful than a website that has a lot of buttons to click, pages to go to, links and etc. just keep your website clear and straightforward.

3. Keep up putting targeted keywords in your contents especially if you are using the SEO method. Make sure that your website’s contents are fun, exciting and knowledgeable when it comes to promoting a certain product; also, make it easy for your current or future clients to get to now more about you and your products, the more they are enticed the more they are likely to indulged in your business.

4. A forum section can be a great asset in your website, where in people can ask questions, share their thoughts about your business, this will not only keep your website alive, it will also help gain more traffic so your website can be more visible in search engines.

DONT’s
1.) Underestimate the power of social media marketing, social networking sites are vastly growing and are used by almost everyone nowadays. We may think that this method is such a waste of time because its approach is sort of laid back and not really that serious but the truth is, people don’t really care about where they find your Ads, what they care about is having to catch their attention with your Ads, That’s why “Ads” should be entertaining and interesting.

2.) Play against the rules. Of course internet marketing has rules too I’m not going to get in to each of those rules. But believe there are rules so it’s important to not violate the terms of service of Google’s AdSense or just go spam search engines or else, bad things will happen to your website.

3.) Don’t allow people to talk bad things about your website weather its through blogging or forums. Just because you have a forum section on your website doesn’t mean you can allow haters to talk trash about your business especially if there is no TRUTH involved. You can always keep your forums clean from bad comments. A good website image can go the extra mile.
